HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- As communities mourn the loss of loved ones in Herkimer County, police continue to investigate the man they say was behind the horrific shooting spree.

Kurt Myers, 64, was shot and killed by police after a day long standoff in Herkimer. A State Police investigator told the Utica Observer Dispatch that Myers had no job or money and that his credit cards were maxed out. The investigator also told the paper the gun used in the killings was obtained legally in 1996.

A motive for the shooting has yet to be released.

If anyone out there still has any information about Myers they think might be helpful, they're asked to call state police at (315) 866-7275.
