Albany police investigating Orange St. armed robbery
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating an armed robbery at a home on Orange Street.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a residence on the 200 block of Orange Street where a 41-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman said a man entered the home with what appeared to be a handgun. The female was ordered to stay downstairs, while the suspect and the male victim were upstairs.
Police said the suspect made the man empty his pockets and give him money, then he directed him to the first floor where he hit him with the weapon and took off. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
Officers observed evidence of drug activity at the home and believe drugs may have been connected to the incident.
