Davidson brothers adding brewery in Queensbury
The Davidson brothers are expanding their business and adding a second location on Route 9 in Queensbury. The plan is to build a substantially larger micro-brewery at this location, only about three and a half miles away from their restaurant and brewery in downtown Glens Falls. As Erin Moran reports, this addition is five years in the making.

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- For seventeen years, the Davidson brothers have been producing beer from their location in downtown Glens Falls. They've become so popular, they now need a larger brewery. After looking at more than 40 different locations, they decided to open just down the road on Route 9 in Queensbury.
“Number one, it's still Warren County. That was very important to us. We believe Warren County will have a greater benefit from the economic impact we can provide and it's still close enough to this brewery that we can run both reasonably well,” said Rick Davidson, co-owner of Davidson Brothers Restaurant and Brewery.
Rick said the new brewery will bring more jobs to the area.
“Probably going to end up being, within a year, year-and-a-half, twelve very good paying jobs and then grow from there.”
He said Queensbury has been very supportive of the idea from the start. At the moment, there isn't zoning for microbreweries in the Town of Queensbury. But in a couple weeks there will be a public hearing on proposed changes to allow the brewery to move in.
“We're trying to be pro-business and this is a really great, great opportunity to do a lot of good things,” said Queensbury Town Supervisor Ronald Montesi.
He said there has been no opposition to the brewery location at this point and the town is looking forward to the economic impact the new brewery will have.
“Having that operation here as a tourist attraction is just going to be great for the community,” said Montesi.
If all goes according to plan for the Davidson brothers, they will be producing, packaging and shipping out of the new brewery by this time next year.
