Town of Cairo police chief arrested
CAIRO, N.Y. -- The Town of Cairo's police chief has been arrested after State Police say he tampered with evidence.
Christopher Sprague, 48, was arrested Thursday and charged with tampering with public records and tampering with physical evidence. He has also been charged with tampering with a witness and falsely reporting an incident.
Investigators say the charges are the result of Sprague’s improper handling of evidence and falsely reporting information to the State Police.
There is no word from State Police on what case this incident is stemming from.
