ALBANY, N.Y. -- Some nanotechnology neophytes get to try their hand at the developing science.
Middle school students from Ballston Spa, Albany, and Niskayuna visited with UAlbany researchers on Tuesday. They introduced the students to next-generation innovations.
Students seemed excited to step into that future filled with greener, more efficient technologies that come with a more modest carbon footprint.
"So hopefully they learn about what nano is and what nanotechnology is about. They go out there and see what's in nature and get inspired by nature, what's in the nature, and they make the connection. If they want to make what nature has perfected for millions of years, then they need to know science and engineering to kind of bring it together," said nanoengineering assistant professor Shadi Shahedipour-Sandyik.
CNSE officials said they'll continue to hold events like this for students so they can keep learning about nanoscience.
