ALBANY, N.Y. -- A Firefighter is sent to the hospital after an early morning fire in Albany. Flames broke out just before 8 a.m. Sunday on West Street in Albany.
Fire officials said they were greeted with lots of smoke coming from the back of 80 and 82 West Street. They said everyone made it out of the two homes safe. One firefighter was taken to Albany Medical Center.
Robert Forezzi Sr., the Albany Fire Chief said, “There's an injury to a firefighter, for burns to his hands and wrists, he was transported to the hospital for evaluation, he walked to the ambulance.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
