NEW YORK STATE -- In the race for state attorney general, both candidates are in a dead heat. The final Siena Research Institute poll heading into today's election has Republican Dan Donovan and his opponent Democratic Eric Schneiderman tied at 44 percent among likely voters.
This comes as Schneiderman was up eight points a few weeks back.
Both candidates spent the day yesterday campaigning in hopes of swaying undecided voters. And each spent the entire campaign criticizing each other's views.
Schneiderman says he looks forward to working with Andrew Cuomo and restoring trust in state government if both are elected.
Donovan says he plans to hold lawmakers accountable for their member items and expose conflicts of interest.
It is likely to be one of the closest races of the night.
