ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. — The Chester Town Supervisor has announced a run for Orange County Executive. Steve Neuhaus says he's the right choice for the position.

Neuhaus kicked off his campaign Saturday morning in Chester. He says he has a history of promoting economic growth as town supervisor, and he's ready to use that experience as County Executive.

Neuhaus says the county is ready for a change in leadership.

"Over the last few years, the county government has fallen into disarray. There is zero trust from the public in it. The senior citizens have been used as a pawn in Valley View. The county building has been vacant for over a year, and there's no solution in sight. That's the core of what I want to do. I want to come in and straighten out this mess," said Neuhaus, (R, C, I).

Ed Diana is the current County Executive. He's been in that position since 2001.
