ALBANY, N.Y. -- A panel of experts, including the New York State Health commissioner, met in Albany Thursday to discuss the H1N1 virus and vaccine. The purpose was to discuss the impact the virus may have on our region.
Health Commissioner Dr. Richard Daines spoke specifically on the supply of the vaccine.
He said, "Because of increase demand we're having shortages. Some of that will work its way through the supply line and we'll have enough. But it's actually kind of a good sign that we've raised awareness of the influence vaccine and we'll probably need more in future years because people are becoming aware of the advantages."
The panel also talked about how H1N1 may affect schools, businesses and the health care system.
