ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany County legislature says it has passed a spending plan that will save one hundred jobs, including 74 at the Albany County nursing home and they say they've done it without having to raise property taxes.
Workers and families of resident were outraged when county executive Mike Breslin proposed closing the county nursing home to save money for the cash strapped county. Legislators say they were able to save those jobs by instituting a hiring freeze.
Breslin has until the 18th to approve the legislature's budget.
