ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Police Department presents a plan to be begin community policing.

The department is forming an advisory committee and is looking for feedback from residents. The plan was presented before the Council of Albany Neighborhood Associations Wednesday night. The project's goal is to cut down on crime and enhance current policing strategies.

"We're looking for everybody's input citywide and what they're looking for from the Albany Police Department, what their expectations are for the future. We are coming off of several years of significant crime reduction and we need to know how we can continue that trend, but we have to be able to continue that together," said Albany Police Deputy Chief Steve Krokoff.

Wednesday night's meeting was one of several scheduled meetings to discuss the Albany community policing project.
