COLONIE, N.Y. -- Dozens of people - and even some four legged friends made it out to the Crossings in Colonie Saturday to help search for a missing dog.

Luna, an American bulldog mix, escaped from Shaker Veterinary Hospital on January 2.
A search was organized for today.

The owners are grateful for all the volunteers who are braving the cold to search for Luna.

"It really warms my heart on a frigid morning. This is awesome. Not only friends and family and people who know and love Luna but just folks who love animals in Capital Region and beyond," said owner Ralph Rataul.

The owners have been handing out flyers and maps of areas where the dog has been spotted.

Surveillance video of Luna making her nighttime escape from the hospital. She opened the front door, setting off the building's alarm.

Police were called thinking there might be a break-in.

The front door wasn't the only barrier she had to get through....

"Upon inspection of the hospital, she had broken out of her cage and actually gone through several interior doors," said Ken Wolfe.

The search continues since her escape six days ago.
