Two men stabbed inside Times Union Center
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating a fight inside the Times Union Center that left two men with stab wounds.
Officers were called inside the arena after a fight broke out around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday during the high school basketball playoff games.
Police said Hakeem Perkins, 24, of Albany sustained a five-inch cut across his back. He was treated at the scene by EMTs and then taken to Albany Medical Center.
The second victim was discovered at the hospital.
Police said Ishmael McCarthy, 22, of Albany told hospital staff that he had been stabbed in the chest during the fight. McCarthy had been with Perkins at the arena and rode with him in the ambulance.
Both victims were treated and released from Albany Medical Center. They did not provide detectives with any descriptions of the suspects or specific details about what caused the fight.
