NEW YORK STATE --
"The individual who first made it clear that there had been a conversation is myself."Governor David Paterson took questions from the public Thursday during an interview on WOR radio in New York City. While on the show, Paterson says he was the first one that leaked information regarding the issue with his aide David Johnson. Johnson was accused of being involved in a domestic violence incident.
A day after the conversation between the woman and Paterson, the woman did not show up to court and the case was dropped.
This comes just after Press Secretary Marissa Shorenstein stepped down.
In a statement, Shorenstein said, "Due to the circumstances that have led to my unwitting involvement in recent news stories, I can no longer do my job effectively."
"The problem right now is that both of us are being questioned by an investigation and we're not supposed to talk to each other. So it's very hard have a communications director when you can't communicate with them," Paterson said.
Paterson went on to say he's looking forward to getting the people's work done.
