TROY, N.Y. -- Troy Police are investigating allegations of officer misconduct. Tuesday afternoon, the Troy chapter of the NAACP spoke out on behalf of some parents in Troy who accuse some Troy police officers of mistreating their kids.

Parents Christina Lewis and James and Maritza Walker made strong allegations against police including their alleged use of racial slurs and undue physical contact against their children.

Reverend Cornelius Clark of the NAACP brought their concerns to police and says he wants the incidents to be investigated.

Troy city officials, while not commenting on the specifics of the incidents, do acknowledge the incidents happened.

"One of them involved three young people that we are aware of throwing snowballs and allegedly they hit a police officer's car," Clark said.

"Both are being investigated internally by the Troy Police Department and those are active and ongoing investigations," said Jeff Pirro, Deputy Director of Public Information.

One of the alleged incidents happened on 10th Street in downtown Troy and another in Griswold Heights.

So far, what we know about these incidents is only what we've been told by the parents of teens allegedly involved, but police do say the incidents are under investigation.
