Police: Man steals car, injures owner
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A 20-year-old Schenectady man will be arraigned in court Monday after police say he stole a car and injured the owner. It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday when police say Joshua Weddle stole a 2008 Kia Sedona that was parked in front of a deli on Crane Street.
The owner of the car was in the deli at the time, saw what was going on, and then ran outside. Police say Weddle then drove off and dragged the owner about a block.
An officer spotted the vehicle on Albany Street and followed the car to Central Park, where the officer said Weddle drove it over a 75-foot embankment.
Weddle was not hurt, but the owner of the car was treated for cuts and scrapes.
