ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating an early-morning home invasion on Bertha Street.

According to police, the home may have been targeted because marijuana was allegedly being sold out of it.

Police said four men forced their way inside and demanded to be let into an upstairs apartment, but Kevin Gator, 19, refused and tried to stop them.

One of the men allegedly turned a handgun on Gator and took his wallet and cell phone. Police said the man then fired a shot into the apartment, which hit Kevin Sullivan, 19, in the knee.

Albany detectives are now investigating both Gator and Sullivan and two other occupants of the apartment, as well as searching for the four home invaders.
