POESTENKILL, N.Y. -- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office is releasing new details following a shooting incident in Poestenkill that left the shooter dead and two others hospitalized.
The sheriff's office said Robert Pryor, 70, shot his daughter, Laurie Fisher, 49, and his granddaughter's boyfriend, Anthony Delgado, 24, at Pryor's home on Route 66 in Poestenkill on Tuesday. Pryor then turned the gun on himself and died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Delgado, who was shot twice, is in critical condition at Albany Medical Center. Fisher was shot once and is listed in serious condition.
The sheriff's office said several rifles and pistols were removed from the home on Tuesday. The investigation found that Pryor had a valid New York State pistol permit, and the pistol used in the shooting was listed on that permit.
Pryor's granddaughter and boyfriend had been living with Pryor, helping him with health issues, but police are still piecing together the details surrounding the incident. The sheriff said Fisher and Delgado were out shopping when Pryor called them and asked them to come to the house. Once they got there, police said Pryor shot them and then turned the gun on himself.
