ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y.-- C.J. Washburn's ready to ride. And next up, is her brother Buddy.
These two budding jockeys even attracted a film crew fit for the the next reality television hit.
"Both of them, I'm thrilled that they have a chance to do this," said their mother, Trish Washburn.
A chance to show the world what their family's all about. Like more than a million Americans, C.J. and Buddy have autism. The cameras all around them are capturing the everyday lives of their family and 20 others around the country for the feature-length documentary "United States of Autism," funded by Pepsi's "Refresh Everything" campaign.
"To be able to pick up something like this and be able to give it someone, maybe someone who has family that's just been diagnosed with autism, and see what we can do to help out," said the film's executive producer Richard Everts.
And one of the those things could be horseback riding up at Everybody Counts Physical Therapy.
"The horses are very loving, the children are drawn to that, it's exciting, it's motivating," said occupational therapist Terri Guenther.
The documentary's due out next spring and the hope is that it'll help spread awareness and give special needs parents the courage to get back in the saddle and push forward.
"As we're traveling around the nation, we're really appealing to people who love things about America," said Everts. "And here are a group of Americans who have a lot of challenges, who are trying to overcome them on a daily basis."
"I think it's important for them to learn what we do for our children, for our loved ones," Washburn.
Though nothing's more inspiring than a magic moment.
