Teen arrested for Delmar house fire

DELMAR, N.Y. -- A teenager has been arrested in connection with a house fire in Delmar. The fire broke out at 112 Hasgate Drive on Aug. 4.

Bethlehem police said an intense investigation led to the arrest of Benjamin Van Zandt, 17, of Selkirk. He is charged with third-degree arson, second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Van Zandt was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.
