MENANDS, N.Y. -- Two children remain in the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday afternoon in Menands. Police say Elonia Edwards and her two children were waiting for a bus. That's when her 2-year-old son ran into Route 32.
Edwards, who was carrying her 2-month-old daughter, went after the child. All three were hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Both children are in critical condition at Albany Medical Center. Police believe alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
The driver of the jeep who hit them is cooperating with police. So far, no tickets have been issued.
