NEW YORK STATE -- Addressing the now infamous dust-up between New York Post photographer Fred Dicker, Republican Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino took to the air waves to defend himself.
"I want to talk to you about what happened last week. I'm a builder, not a politician. When someone went after my 10-year-old daughter, I got angry," Paladino said.
After the explanation, he attacked the media. Suggesting they are unfairly asking about his personal life and not asking the same questions to Andrew Cuomo.
"What I meant to express in my anger was simply this: Does the media ask Andrew such questions? Andrew's prowess is legendary," Paladino said.
Paladino didn't expand on what he meant by "prowess," but did continue to take shots at his opponent for his failure to agree to a debate all the candidates in the field.
"Andrew, stop the political posturing and games. Why do you want to exclude the only African American candidate and the only woman candidate and the Green Party candidate? I don't understand. Come out and debate like a man," said Paladino.
But before Paladino's speech even hit the airwaves, Cuomo's camp announced that they will participate in a debate on Long Island with every candidate on the ballot. Shortly thereafter, Paladino's camp also said they would attend that debate, where he's sure to hammer home the same platform he advertised.
"I have a plan and I'm not afraid to implement it. Cut taxes by 10 percent, cut spending by 20 percent," Paladino said.
And while he plans to save New York State money in the long run, his campaign manager is asking for it. Now.
"Send an emergency contribution today, send whatever you can. The fight has just begun," said Paladino campaign Chair Nancy Naples.
Carl Paladino had promised to self fund his campaign up to $10 million.
Andrew Cuomo's, on the other hand, has $20 million in his campaign coffer.
