TROY, N.Y. -- Troy Police want you to be aware of a possible attempted abduction in the city. They say shortly after midnight Sunday, a female RPI student was walking on Sage Avenue. That's when police say a dark colored car slowed down beside her and two men jumped out.
Police said one of the men approached and grabbed the victim by the arm, then told her to get into the car. She was able to break away and run from the scene.
The suspects are described as two white males, both in their twenties. One was wearing dark clothing, a hat and has facial hair. The second suspect was wearing dark clothes and is about 5'10" to 6' tall.
The car was described as a dark blue or black Honda with a white license plate.
Besides never walking alone on campus after dark, police are giving this advice to students.
"Fight, fight, fight. Never ever acquiesce to the demand of getting into another vehicle and go with anyone forcibly. Statistics show that anyone who acquiesce to that kidnappers efforts most likely will turn up seriously hurt or dead within the next 12 to 24 hours," said Troy Police Department Captain John Cooney.
If you have any information about the incident, you are asked to contact police.
