ALBANY, N.Y. -- A celebration kicked off in Albany in honor of the latest construction projects taking place in the City's Arbor Hill Neighborhood.

Roughly two years ago, the city applied for funding and was awarded the Stabilization Program Funding for the department of housing an urban development. The city will receive roughly $4 million to help revitalize the Arbor Hill community.

Mayor Jerry Jennings was on hand, along with officials from the City of Albany, the Albany Community Development Agency and the Albany Housing Authority.

"It provides us with an opportunity to take neglected buildings and turn them into high quality housing, which will make a huge difference. Not only for the people who live here, but also the surrounding neighborhood and the entire city," Mayor Jennings said.

Officials hope to have people move into these properties by the spring.
