"Facebook rapist" pleads guilty, faces 12-13 years in prison
COLONIE, N.Y. -- A Colonie man accused of using Facebook to meet underage girls to have sex with them has pleaded guilty to four counts of third-degree rape.

According to the Albany County District Attorney's Office, David Bradt, 24, met many young girls on Facebook by sending a friend request to all the friends listed on the page of someone he knew. The girls would see that Bradt was a "friend" of someone they were friends with, so they would accept his request.

The DA said Bradt would begin an online and text relationship with the girls, then eventually he'd ask to meet with them face to face. The DA said Bradt then supplied them with alcohol and marijuana and then engaged in sexual contact with several girls under the age of 17.

Bradt was brought to attention of the Colonie Police Department by the mother of a 16-year-old girl who had been contacted by him. No criminal conduct was found in that particular case, but it led police to Bradt's Facebook account. He was arrested in October 2010.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, Bradt will serve 12 to 13 years in prison and 10 years post release supervision. He must also register as a sex offender.
