BETHLEHEM, N.Y. -- The Town of Bethlehem won't be buying the old Normanside Golf Course after all. Town Supervisor Sam Messina says Bank of America told him Bethlehem was not the winning bidder for the Normanside debt. But we do not know who the winning bidder was.
Messina says the bank has a policy against releasing the winner or how much they paid.
Bethlehem's plan to buy the land was controversial. Some residents were upset about spending town money to buy it, while many others wanted to preserve the open space.
Massina says the town is hopeful that the new owner of Normanside will keep this unique property as a golf course and as open space.
