ALBANY, N.Y. -- Two teenagers have been arrested in the stabbing death of an Albany High teen over the weekend.
Jah-Lah Tyree Vanderhorst, 16, and Dhoruba A. Shauib, 19, both of Albany, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder for the death of Tyler Rhodes, who was stabbed around 7 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Park.
Albany police said Vanderhorst stabbed the 17-year-old in the chest in front of witnesses, including young children. Police said Shauib blocked Rhodes from moving while Vanderhorst stabbed him. Vanderhorst is also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
A viewing will be held Wednesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home in Colonie.
