TROY, N.Y. -- Michael Mosley was convicted Thursday of all counts for the brutal murder of a Troy couple nine years ago.

A jury found Mosley guilty of one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and one count of burglary in connection with the stabbing deaths of Samuel Holley, 27, and Arica Schneider, 18, in their Brunswick Road apartment in 2002.

Deliberations started Wednesday afternoon and continued Thursday until the verdict was reached just before 3 p.m.

"He was very saddened," said defense attorney Terence Kindlon. "I think Michael was feeling he was going to be standing out here being interviewed by you by this time. So he was very optimistic and he is obviously very disappointed.

"Oh my God, it's finally over," said Paul Schneider, Arica Schneider's father. "She's resting in peace."

"Yeah we have closure, we know who did it, but still it ain't gonna bring him back, or her back," said Samuel Holley's brother, Tramaine Hill.

Emotions were running high in Rensselaer County Court as the guilty verdict was read. Mosley's mother, Wilma Mosley, started screaming and collapsed. Emergency crews responded and took her out with a stretcher. She could be heard crying, "Let me die."

Mosley faces life in prison without parole. Sentencing is scheduled for July 12.

Kindlon said the defense will file an appeal.
