SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A pedestrian was killed Thursday after a two-car accident on Hulett and Albany streets around 12:45 p.m.
"There was a two-car collision that occurred at the intersection. The collision caused one car to exit the roadway and strike a pedestrian on Hulett Street," said Assistant Police Chief Brian Kilcullen.
That pedestrian was a woman, police said, who had been walking on the sidewalk and was pronounced dead at Ellis Hospital. Police said a second pedestrian was also hit, but suffered only minor injuries.
"The car was traveling that direction, the van was traveling that direction, and the collision occurred in the intersection," said Kilcullen. "The van exited the roadway, struck the sidewalk and continued to where it stopped."
Police released no information about the drivers of either vehicle or any other details on the cause of the accident. They did not say whether or not the driver of either vehicle would face charges.
