Road closures throughout the Capital Region
Numerous local highway and bridge closures exist following Irene.

New York State Thruway:
•NYS THRUWAY, I-90, IS OPEN IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. No Special Hauling permit travel allowed between Exits 27 and 28 (I-90) (Both Directions) until further notice. NYS Thruway, I-90, has been reopened to traffic in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists traveling between Exits 27 & 28 should expect lane restrictions, reduced speed limits and traffic delays. Vehicles traveling under special hauling permits can not travel through this restricted area. Tandem tractor-trailers (LCV) are not affected by this restriction.
Bridge Closures:
•I-88 BRIDGE IS NOW OPEN IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.
•The Bridge on I-88 both eastbound and westbound is CLOSED. Detour route is State Rte. 7.
Albany County:
•County Route 2/Cole Hill between Woodstock Road & County Route 1 in Berne closed
•County Route 53/South Albany Rd. between County Route 54/Bell Crossing Rd. & Rupert Rd. in Coeymans/Bethlehem closed
•County Route 411/Newry Rd between Boomhower Rd. & Schlegel Rd in Westerlo closed
•Rte 144 South of Rte 143 in Coeymans CLOSED as of 11 a.m. Thursday due to storm damage until further notice
