GREENE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Other areas in Greene County are also seeing significant damage from Irene.
The Village of Catskill is now trying to pick up the pieces. Boats that were once on trailers have fallen to the concrete below.
Roadways are filled with sinkholes, leaving the buckled concrete piled up on the shoulder. Residents are also working to pump the water from their homes, which were taken over by flooding.
Village President Vincent Seeley says it has been a disaster of epic proportions.
"We expected a lot of rain, we expected Hurricane Irene to bring some devastation, but this just way beyond anything we could have ever dreamed. The water has hit flood levels here and levels of destruction that we haven't seen in 100 years," Seeley said.
Although there were some families who have been displaced from their homes, Seeley says luckily, no one lost their life.
