TROY, N.Y. -- The City of Troy unveiled a new monument at a dedication and remembrance ceremony.
Hundreds of residents gathered at Troy's new Memorial Park to remember the September 11th attacks.
The steel monument of the twin towers is being dedicated to the ideals of the U.S. and to its citizens who work hard, making sacrifices to keep America the home of the free and the brave.
Mayor Harry Tutunjian spoke about the importance of the monument.
"This monument behind me isn't a memorial to the dead, it's a monument to the living ideals of a country, of a people, and a society which embraces the future by giving up something today to have a better tomorrow," Tutunjian said.
The monument also includes a walkway with bricks engraved with the names of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
