RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Republican incumbent Jack Mahar is re-elected as Rensselaer County Sheriff. Mahar faced Democratic challenger Gary Gordon, an investigator in District Attorney McNally’s office.
With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Mahar received 56 percent of the votes, while Gordon received 44 percent.
