ALBABY, N.Y. -- As Sage College students search for jobs, they're getting a lesson in monitoring what comes up in search results.
The Office of Career Planning hosts social media presentations on campus. The director says it's important students keep their profiles professional. Staff are also teaching students how to use the Internet to network during the job search.
“You know, seventy percent of postings don't go public. Aren't publicly posted or aren't posted online. So when students are able to effectively navigate those networks and build their network, their chances of finding a job or internship just go up exponentially," said Mike O’Connor, Director of Career Planning.
The Second Annual Capital Region Career Expo is being held on Sage's Albany Campus on May 15th.
