Charges upgraded in shooting case
TROY, N.Y. -- Charges have been upgraded for a Troy man police say has ties to shootings in the city.
Rensselaer County District Attorney Richard McNally says Shateek Lanier, 22, has been charged with attempted murder after a grand jury upgraded the charges against him.
Lanier was originally arrested and charged with assault and criminal use of a firearm in connection with a shooting from last Tuesday night where a teen was shot multiple times in the leg.
Lanier is being held at the Rensselaer County Jail.
