Man dies at Schenectady restaurant

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A Schenectady business owner is dead after an accident involving a food service elevator. It happened at the Bangkok Bistro on State Street, shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police said they found Israel Silva, one of the owners of the restaurant, with a severe head injury.

According to police, Silva was loading food into a food service elevator, when another employee activated the elevator, trapping Silva's head inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not filed any charges in the case.
