ALBANY, N.Y. -- A local business is not only expanding, but it's also staying in New York State.
Tech Valley Communications is consolidating its operations in downtown Albany, which won't be far from headquarters. There were other options on the table, but a $250,000 grant from Empire State Development allowed the company to stay in Albany.
The move will also create more than 60 new jobs and keep current employees.
Tech Valley Communications CEO Kevin O’Connor said, "We are on a pretty steep growth. We need the space to be able to grow and get all of our people in one office. We have them spread out in four different locations in Albany and then some other folks are spread out through New England. So we are consolidating everything in downtown Albany because this is the best place to grow this company."
Tech Valley Communications is a leading provider of data and high speed Internet services in Upstate New York. It was founded in Albany back in 1999.
