SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady Police are investigating after a man is shot in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon. It happened at 799 Albany Street around 2:30 p.m. Police said a man was shot in the back.

The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center. The extent of his injuries are unknown. While police have yet to name a suspect, they warn that the shooter is still at large.

"The suspect shot someone in broad daylight, so yes, he should be considered dangerous," said Lt. Mark McCracken, Schenectady Police.

McCracken said they are not yet releasing the victim's name.
