ALBANY, N.Y. -- An investigation is underway after a UAlbany student reported she was raped early Saturday morning.
Police said the 18-year-old woman was intoxicated and walking alone in the area of Quail and Western around 12:30 a.m. when she was was taken into a home and assaulted. Police said it's unclear whether she was forced into the home or went in willingly.
She told police that after the attack, she got out of the home and called a friend who took her to the hospital where hs was interviewed by police several hours later.
Albany Police Department PIO Steve Smith said, "Right now we're just trying to put the pieces together. We have an 18-year-old who lives locally but is not very familiar with the city. Right now, like I said, we're trying to put the pieces together and work with her to try to help her remember exactly what happened. Right now she doesn't even know what home she was in."
Police said the woman was not able to give a good description of the attacker.
