LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Folks in the Capital Region are coming together to remember the victims of Friday's school shooting in Connecticut.
Families gathered at the Hindu Temple in Loudonville for a vigil in honor of those affected by the elementary school shooting. They say when children are taken from one family, it's really everyone's loss.
Prayers and a moment of silence were held for the 20 children and seven adults lost in the tragic shooting.
"When little children are killed, it hurts everybody all over the country, not only where it happened and immediate families, but everybody else within the pain of that," said Hindu Temple Chair Mattur Balakrishna.
Temple leaders say they want their children to know when they go to school they are safe and that all of their elders are here to support them.
