SCHODACK, N.Y. -- You could say it gives a new meaning to long distance learning. A delegation of educators from China paid a visit to the Schodack Central School District.

Representatives from School Number 57, which is located southeast of Beijing, met with students and administrators in an effort to share education ideas. The idea is for both cultures to learn from each other in more ways than one.

"It's for student exchanges, not only just sending students there and students coming here, but to be able to partner students up via the internet, distance learning, video conferencing," said Bob Horan, Schodack Superintendent of Schools.

The two schools also signed an official partnership agreement, where each will continue to lean about each other and share educational ideas.

The Schodack Central School District was chosen due to their similar approaches to teaching.
