ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Common Council voted down a plan to turn St. Joseph's Church in Albany into a brewery.
The council voted 10 to one, with three members abstaining, on a resolution that opposes transforming the church into a brewery.
The owner of Raven's Head Brewing had applied for a zoning variance that would allow the business to move a brewery into the old church at the Ten Broeck Triangle. The building is currently owned by the Historic Albany Foundation, which has supported finding another use for it.
