NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- It's a girl! The first baby of the New Year in the Capital Region was born just 17 minutes after midnight on New Year's Day.
Zaniya Buess was born at Bellevue Woman’s Center. The baby girl weighs seven pounds, two ounces and is more than 18 inches long.
Besides being a New Year's baby, her parents will have no trouble remembering her birthday.
"It is surprising we ended up with the same birthday. It is amazing. Shocking, you guys are all here," said Martia Higginbothan and Seth Buess said.
Seth's 24th birthday will certainly be a memorable one.
