ALBANY, N.Y. -- Friends and Family gather in Albany, to remember Katherine Parker.
The 28-year-old was hit while trying to cross the street on Central Ave Thursday night and later died.

People gathered across the street from where she was hit, lighting candles for the woman they said meant so much to them.

"I lost my greatest best friend ever. And a lot of people out here tonight, lost friends. Someone you could lean on, talk to. Someone that makes you smile when you've had a bad day," said Tameeka Cowley, victim’s friend.

The driver of the car in the accident, a 68-year-old woman, was not injured. No tickets have been issued at this point. The accident is still under investigation.
