Search ends for traces of Jennifer Hammond's body
GREENFIELD, N.Y. -- The search has ended for any trace of a missing teen's body after her skull was found in Greenfield last month.
More than two dozen police officers combed the woods in a remote part of Saratoga County on Tuesday, looking for the remains of Jennifer Hammond.
A hunter discovered a partial skull in a heavily wooded area in Greenfield on Monday, Oct. 26. Authorities found more bone fragments the following day.
The skull was linked through dental records to Hammond, who was last seen at the Creek and Pines Trailer Park in August 2003 when she was 18 years old.
Police said Hammond worked for a magazine company that traveled state to state, which is why she was in the area at the time.
By mid-afternoon Tuesday, Saratoga County Sheriff James Bowen said officers had found nothing of interest at the site, and they had no plans to continue looking in the area.
