State Police say George Vorsheim, 56, was heading south in the northbound lanes around 11 p.m. Saturday in Clifton Park. His blood alcohol content was over three times the legal limit when his van collided with the trailer.

Vorsheim refused medical treatment at the scene and was brought to Saratoga County Jail.

Also on the Northway Saturday night, a drunk driver tried to elude state troopers, leading them on a chase for several miles before his vehicle broke down.

State Police attempted to pull over Matthew Sherman, 39, of Saratoga Springs near Exit 13 just before midnight for driving erratically. Instead, he took off, heading south to exit 8 before his jeep stalled.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, fleeing from police, possession of marijuana, and other vehicle and traffic charges.
