19-year-old killed in crash on Rt. 146

A 19-year-old from Halfmoon is dead and a Scotia man is seriously injured in a head-on collision on Route 146. Our Megan Cruz spoke with the young woman's family and people who were there moments after the crash. Our Solomon Syed also spoke with the surviving driver's family, as he undergoes surgery for his injuries.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old from Halfmoon is dead and a Scotia man is seriously injured after a head-on collision on Route 146.

The crash happened after 9 p.m. Tuesday near Pruyn Hill Road in the Town of Halfmoon.

According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Taylor Mosher, 19, was driving east on Route 146 and crossed into the westbound lane where she struck a Ford Explorer head-on.

Mosher was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Explorer, Thomas Czaban, 45, of Scotia was taken to Albany Medical Center where he is undergoing surgery.

The crash remains under investigation.

Family members tell YNN that Czaban's daughters went to school with Mosher.
