GREENFIELD, N.Y. -- A Greenfield man has been indicted for murder after Saratoga County Sheriff's deputies say he killed his own mother.

Deputies say Joshua Mcwain, 27, killed Carol Stanford and buried her body under a shed back in October. Police say Mcwain hit his mother over the head several times with a blunt object inside their home.

According to the District Attorney's office, he has been charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Mcwain is being held at Saratoga County Jail without bail.
