An arrest is made in connection with a hit and run from over the weekend in Albany. Police said the driver turned himself in. Our Erin Vannella has the details.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police said the suspect in a fatal hit and run has turned himself in. While police have yet to confirm his identity, sources have told YNN that suspect is Ian Eckardt-Rigberg, 19.

We're also told Eckardt-Rigberg had a restricted New York State driver's license because of several tickets and a couple of accidents, and at least one of the tickets was for speeding.

Troopers in Loudonville said they spotted a car going 75 miles an hour on I-90 Saturday night. State police said a trooper followed the car, but stopped the pursuit after the driver got off onto Exit 6.

They said Rozell Whitehead, 53, was crossing Henry Johnson Boulevard near Third Street when he was hit. State Police said the vehicle did not stop.

Whitehead, who worked on and off for the past several years at Taysha Florist, which is right near the intersection, was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

YNN has not heard from police about possible charges against Eckardt-Rigberg.
