A campaign stop brought First Lady Michelle Obama to the Bay State, specifically to Western Massachusetts. Brandon Walker has more on her visit.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The First Lady made a visit to Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Many people in the community came out to catch a glimpse of First Lady Michelle Obama, but few actually saw the president's wife on her first trip to Western Massachusetts.

The First Lady made the stop on behalf of President Obama, along with Massachusetts Governor Devall Patrick, the chair of Obama's re-election campaign. She took the opportunity to tout the highlights of President Obama's tenure in office and to talk about health care reform and the need to fix the economy.

“It was a very inspiring message, very upbeat, that we hope this campaign for the next 94 days will be about the real issues facing America and not about rhetoric that we sometimes see in government," said 4th Berkshire Representative Smitty Pignatelli.

The First Lady's trip finished up with a round table discussion at the governor's home in Richmond.
